Did you know that your Windows operating system can be used as a Clock provider for NTP? Here is a guideline for setup.
Instructions are valid for the following Windows operating systems:
- Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Windows 10 (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit)
- Windows Server 2012 R2 (64-bit)
- Windows Server 2016 (64-bit)
Follow the instructions to configure your Master client as NTP server. In this way, you can synchronize other Measurement units with the Master client in local network.
1. Stop the "Windows Time" service via Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services.
2. Open the registry editor via "Start > Run... > regedit".
3. Search for the code "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\W32Time\TimeProviders\NtpServer".
4. Set the "Enabled" value to 1.
5. Search for the code "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\W32Time\Config".
6. Set the "AnnounceFlags" value to 5.
7. Start the "Windows Time" again and set the start type to "Automatic".
