When switching between In+ and In- you may notice that the Sns (+/-) is switching automatically.

This was made intentionally so that the same signal sign is seen with ShuntOn if switched between In+/-.  It can be seen with Shunt cal-auto-target.

This is referring to STG amplifiers (KRYPTON, SIRIUS, and IOLITE), changing the bridge shunt position and the relationship between the buttons in DewesoftX.

There are four shunt options available. From the hardware side, SIRIUS STGv2, KRYPTON STG, and IOLITE STG are all capable of switching between these four options.

1. Let’s start with In+ / Sns+:

The signal change is seen with ShuntOn will be set at +0,5mV/V.

2. Now we switch to In- and Sns will be automatically set to Sns-, so we get In- / Sns-:

The signal change you will see with ShuntOn will be +0,5mV/V.

3. Now we switch to Sns+ and In will stay at In-, otherwise we would be never able to set such a combination:

The signal change is seen with ShuntOn which will change to -0,5mV/V.

4. Now we switch to In+ and Sns+ will be automatically set to Sns-, so we get: In+ / Sns-:

The signal change is seen with ShuntOn which will stay at -0,5mV/V.

In conclusion:

When switching In(+/-) we also switch the Sns to that the sign of the expected signal is not changed.

When switching Sns(+/-) the In does not change but the sign of the expected signal is changed.
