Description of the problem

How to simultaneously compare two different datafiles on the same PC? The underlying article will guide to enable needed settings for opening multiple instances of DewesoftX at once.

Description of the solution

First go to Options --> Settings

Under Startup section check the box to enable multiple instances of DewesoftX. When finished restart the program and open desired datafile for analysis. Then run another instance of DewesoftX to open the second datafiles.

NOTE

Using multiple instances is only recommended for analyzing datafiles. Having open two or more DewesoftX instances, when acquiring the data, can cause improper operation because each instance reads/writes to the same system files of DewesoftX.

From DewesoftX 2022.2 version it is possible to open the data files during acquisition in a different instance or with another client/slave in NET configuration. The data file will contain data up to the very moment of opening, allowing you to start the analysis right away.
