Basically, the picture shows it as it would be very simple to have a 4-wire connection on the STGM amplifier. But the issue is that the circuit of the amplifier is not ready for a 4-wire connection on the STGM (from the multiplexer to other components, which are not there).
The STGM is also meant as a "low performance" version of the STG (less excitation, not so many functions of the quarter bridge, just 1 shunt, etc.) if the customer does not need that high-end strain module.
At the moment there is no plan to add a 4-wire quarter bridge to the existing STGM, as this requires changing the complete circuitry of the module but we offer our flagship STG amplifier.
