Introduction

This article complements the Official release newsletter and focuses on graphically representing features that were briefly mentioned in the newsletter under the "What else is new?" section.

The most notable features in the 2023.4 release are fully presented in the Official release newsletter and are listed in the following list:

  • Dynamic ChannelLimits

  • Change Graph Axis Values in Multiple Widgets at Once

  • PCAP Export

  • Lin Plugin Master Transmit

Additional FFT overall maximum channel available in FFT analysis Module

FFT analysis Module now offers an option of an additional channel , presenting an overall maximum average value of the data, while also allowing you to see, and analyse, unaveraged data. This is done by pressing the Additional overall maximum output channel checkbox under the Averaging section.

Support for reducing the upper frequency in FFT and OT modules

You can now freely choose the frequency range you want displayed in FFT and other OT modules channels.

Update to Rotor balancer widget

The latest version of the rotor balancing widget includes adjustable correction masses, where you have the freedom to easily add or remove correction masses to fine-tune the balance of your rotating machinery.

In addition, you can switch between different units of mass to the one that suits your preferences and engineering standards.

The balancing widget now supports both clockwise (CW) and counter clockwise (CCW) rotation.

You can choose to calculate the reference position from the trial weight or rely on the key phasor data. This flexibility accommodates different balancing scenarios and simplifies the process for you.

Drawing node direction arrows in Modal geometry

The new update implements drawing node direction arrows for current measured DOF groups in Modal geometry.

Multiple upper or lower limits can be added in Vector reference curve math

Multiple upper or lower limits can now be added while using Vector reference curve math, as opposed to just one upper and one lower bound in previous versions. The new feature was implemented under the Limit table section of Vector reference curve setup.

Single value channels as dynamic limits in Array Statistics Math

It is now possible to make measurements with user-controlled parameters, without having to change the setup. This can be done by assigning single value channels (global variables, user inputs,...) as dynamic axis bounds in Array statistics, in the Bound type section. The axis bounds, defined by the channel values, can be either in the value of indices or in the value of axis values.

ASAM ODS export is now extended with NVH application module based on the ASAM standard

Before the update there was no meta-data information if vectors are a part of the same channel, so each component of the vector (in time domain or matrix) would be treated as its own channel. Now, the meta-data is present so we know which vectors are a part of the same channel. This means that when you import your ASAM ODS data in any third party software, you now can see the entire channel instead of just its individual components.

Raw CAN messages are now supported in Chapter10 Module

Chapter 10 Module can now convert direct non decoded raw CAN messages to chp10 data stream.

DS Battery Pack’s connection status and FW version are now presented in DewesoftX

When the DS Battery Pack is connected its connection status and FW version are now presented in DewesoftX.

The Battery Pack’s connection status can be found in Ch. setup, System monitor, as BatteryConnectionStatus. The Firmware version can be found by enabling Show information in the Event viewer under Event log. The Battery Pack’s Firmware can then be viewed by pressing the gray Information button in the upper left corner, after pressing rescan devices under Options, Devices.

Changing measurement properties on multi-channel EtherCAT devices is now significantly faster

Changing measurement properties on multi-channel EtherCAT devices is now significantly faster due to the support of multi-threaded commands.

Discrete channels in channel settings

You can now define any channel as a discrete type by changing its type in channel settings. Additionally, you can now also add desired discrete values to it.

DewesoftX display screen to report screen

DewesoftX’s Display screens can now easily be converted to a Report screen or vice versa, by right clicking on its icon and pressing convert to Display/Report.

Text-box widget improvements

Screen printout now displays the text written in the Text-box widget in the same way as it is displayed in the Report display- there is no more breaking and distortion of text, unless it was previously designed so by the user.

If automatic font scaling is selected under the Text-box widget advanced settings, the text and pictures inside the Text-box widget will now automatically be resized alongside the widget. The text or picture size increase or decrease will also be proportional to the widget resize.

Historian Importer now available for use with MQTT-based Historian server deployments

Historian Importer is now available for use with MQTT-based Historian server deployments (Historian Importer itself uses HTTPS protocol for communication with the database). To import data in such way, DewesoftX has to be in Analyze mode, then you can simply choose Import, and Historian Importer.
